The developments bring IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN connectivity to the choice of networking options available for the eCosPro real-time operating system.

Immediately available are eCosPro implementations targeting the Cypress BCM943362WCD4_EVB and BCM943364WCD1_EVB kits - both popular platforms with embedded and IoT developers adding wireless connectivity to their products.

eCosPro Developer's Kit releases for the Cypress BCM43362 & BCM43364 make use of the Cypress WICED WiFi™ Software Development Kit (SDK), whilst allowing developers to harness the features and peripherals of the onboard STM32F2 or STM32F4 Cortex-M4 microcontrollers for their own applications. eCosPro's low footprint TCP/IP stack solution provides for both IPv4 and IPv6 networking standards. Serial, Flash, SPI, I2C, WDT (WatchDog Timer), RTC (Real Time Clock) and GPIO drivers are fully validated and pre-integrated, alongside eCosCentric's comprehensive suite of software development tools.

eCosPro's WiFi support is extensible to support radio chipsets from other vendors. (XXXX need some details on AP selection, WPA2 etc here XXXX).
