eCosCentric announce eCosPro® Developer's Kit
for KwikByte KB9202
CAMBRIDGE, UK -- August 11, 2005 -- eCosCentric Limited, the eCos
and RedBoot experts, today announced the availability of the
eCosPro® Developer's Kit for the recently launched
KwikByte KB9202 evaluation board. The KB9202 supersedes the
previously supported KB9200 & KB9201 evaluation targets.
The KB9202 is based on Atmel's popular AT91RM9200
microcontroller - a cost-effective single chip solution
integrating an ARM9 processor with a range of peripherals including
Ethernet, serial UARTs, two-wire (I2C™) interface, memory controllers and
timers. The KB9202 allows development teams to evaluate the Atmel
solution rapidly using a readily available, low cost, small form factor board.
The eCosPro Developer's Kit for KB9202 offers
rapid "out of the box" familiarisation for the developer.
Pre-built RedBoot binary images are supplied for bootstrapping the
target and enabling Ethernet/serial download and debug via
eCosPro's Eclipse-based IDE or command-line GDB. The eCosCentric-developed
hardware abstraction layer includes full support for Ethernet and
serial I/O, timers and interrupt-safe flash drivers (enabling the reliable
use of JFFS2 with eCosPro). Additional
target-specific driver support is under development, based on
customer demand, for some of the more complex peripherals on the KB9202.
These will augment the standard feature set supported in the earlier
eCosPro Developer's Kit for KB9200/KB9201 which included GCC v3.3.3
and eCosCentric's
Robust Boot Loader for secure in-field upgrades.
"The eCosPro Developer's Kit for KB9202 offers a powerful
platform for the development of real-time embedded systems," said
Shelly Aamold, President and CEO of KwikByte, Inc. "The eCos
operating system offers features required by demanding embedded
applications. Customers chose eCosPro to meet their system
requirements, for the advanced configuration capability, and to
reduce development time. The eCosPro Developer's Kit for the
highly-integrated KB9202 provides all the tools for embedded
development - it's the complete package."
