Purchasing the eCos 2.0 Development CD-ROM

By ordering the eCos 2.0 Development CD-ROM, you will ensure that you receive everything necessary to build, debug and execute your own eCos application on one of the many supported target platforms. The CD-ROM includes the complete sources of the eCos 2.0 release, eCos documentation (in HTML and PDF formats), eCos host tools and all the GNU development tools required. Delivery is by post.

The CD-ROM allows potential developers to evaluate eCos and RedBoot without having to learn the intricacies of building cross-platform toolchains. They allow you to focus on your own software development. The CD-ROM also allows developers with slow net connections to save the many hours required to download 17MB of eCos sources and host tools, 8-14MB of toolchain binaries per target (another 43MB for the sources) and 100MB+ of Cygwin support tools for those with Windows hosts. You will also benefit from a US $15 / UK £10 / €15 discount on future CD-ROM upgrades and releases, allowing you to take advantage of additional applications and features that will be provided on future eCosCentric CD-ROMs only.

All prices include packaging, airmail postage and local taxes (VAT). Postage will be from the United Kingdom and typically takes upto 3 days to Europe, 5 days to North America and 10 days to the rest of the world.

Cheque:

Send a cheque (UK or EuroCheque) in pounds sterling, made out to "eCosCentric Limited" to the company's registered address below, including a note with your name and delivery address. This is the preferred method if ordering from Europe.

Notes

• The eCos 2.0 release is several years old. There have been many changes, additions and bug fixes to eCos since its release. The only circumstance where we would recommend the eCos 2.0 CD-ROM, is for developers who have limited internet connectivity, as the CD-ROM does contain full installable versions of the eCos development tools.
• The eCos 2.0 Development CD-ROMs are supplied on CD-R (recordable) media, which may not be readable on some very early CD-ROM drives or first generation DVD-ROM drives.
• The eCos 2.0 Development CD-ROM does not include eCosPro^®, the graphical IDE, the eCos PPP stack, additional platform support, incident support, rolling releases and many of the other features that are only available with the eCosPro^® Developer's Kit.
